David Allen has been painting since the age of 16. He lives in South Bend and has paintings in the collections of the South Bend Museum of Art and the Midwest Museum of American Art. He has worked with galleries in Chicago, New York, and South Bend and his work has been included in multiple exhibitions throughout the Midwest.
David is best known for his city and neighborhood scenes. He works outside, on location, summer and winter and also does nonrepresentational work in his South Bend studio. He credits much of his prowess in painting to the late Harold Zisla, Professor Emeritus, IUSB.

Conflict and division in church and society! With Bible study and contemporary stories, this course shows that disagreement can be healthy for faith communities and societies. Old Testament authors, Jesus, rabbinical Judaism, and the early church all give models for healthy conflict. This study will include some focus on reconciliation in Israel/Palestine. Nelson Kraybill, recently returned from a year in Palestine, is author of Stuck Together: The Hope of Christian Witness in a Polarized World.
