2018 Goshen Health Entertainment Series

The mission of Goshen Health is to improve the health of our communities by providing innovative, outstanding care and services through exceptional people doing exceptional work. For the seventh consecutive year, Goshen Health is supporting the summer Entertainment Series that is a very valuable benefit of membership. We encourage you to express your gratitude if given opportunity.
 
June 1 - Meet Me on the Island 5:30 – 10:00 pm Whistle Pigs & Fireworks!
The Whistle Pigs Dance is a seven- piece dance band with versatile musical offerings, performing everything from Contemporary, to Classic Rock, Jazz and Rhythm and Blues. This talented group of musicians will provide a great start to the Goshen Health Entertainment Series. Good vocals and instrumentals will make for an enjoyable evening on the island behind Century Center, and concludes with fireworks provided by The Best Week Ever in downtown South Bend.
 
June 29 - Goshen Blue Friday 5:00 – 10:00 pm (2 bands!)  Big Daddy Dupree and the Broke & Hungry Blues Band followed by: JR Clark and the All Star Blues Mob
The Goshen Brewing Company provides the backdrop for Goshen Blue Friday, an evening of great blues, great food and fun. The festivities start with Big Daddy Dupree and the Broke & Hungry Blues Band, a full-blown seven piece, soul infused Blues experience that pays homage to all of the great forefathers of the Blues. The evening concludes with the JR Clark and the All Star Blues Mob, bringing Blues, Soul and original Southern Rock to the event.  Sure to put a smile on your face and a groove in your step, this high- energy band is always a crowd favorite.  Lawn chairs or blankets are encouraged.
 
July 6 - Meet me on the Island 5:00 – 10:00 pm  Shake N’ Chill & Fireworks by DTSB
The island behind Century Center will be a great place to end the 4th of July holiday week, with
the Blues, Rock and Swing of Shake N’ Chill. The island will be rockin’ with what has been called
some “smokin’ rhythm and blues. Join the fun and enjoy an evening of toe tappin music, and fellow
WVPE members.
 
July 13 - Envirofest 5:00 – 9:00 pm  The Stampede String Band
The Stampede String Band, now in its 7th year, brings intense, diverse Americana music to life.
The band presents a powerful blend of roots and rock, of tradition and creativity, and of honesty and
energy that has struck a chord with thousands of listeners. Set in the Wellfield Botanic Gardens,
Envirofest presents an evening of displays, demonstrations, and children friendly programs that
make it a great night for the whole family.
 
July 20 - Fernwood Friday 5:30 – 9:00 pm  Kennedy’s Kitchen
Kennedy’s Kitchen brings all things Irish to Fernwood Friday. From pub songs, and sing-a-longs,
and stories, to ripping dance tunes, there will be a little bit of everything going on Fernwood
Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve. With voices raised in song, rich harmonies, fiddle,
flute, whistle, mandolin, tenor banjo, bouzouki, guitar and bass are all combined for an enjoyable
evening of music.
 
August 3 - Meet Me on the Island 5:30 – 9:00 pm  Linsay Kelly & The Lowlifes
The Goshen Health Entertainment Series concludes with the final Meet Me on the Island of the
year. Linsay Kelly & The Lowlifes is new to this event and bring an eclectic blend of tunes resulting
in a polished performance with powerful vocals. Take advantage of this last time to gather with
like-minded listeners in the summer of 2018.
