The History Museum Presents Dressing Downton: Changing Fashion for Changing Times

Now open and running through January 8th of next year, The History Museum is proud to  present Dressing Downton:  Changing Fashion for Changing Times.  An international exhibit, it is presented in partnership with BBC/Masterpiece Theater and Exhibits Development Group and features 36 costumes worn during the first four seasons of the PBS program Downton Abbey.  Shown in memorable vignettes that offer an immersive perspective of the program's most memorable characters, both upstairs and down, these award winning costumes are sure to impress.  Their historical context is the backdrop for Dressing Downtown that chronicles the great changes taking place in Britain during the early 20th century.  Each area includes images that show the costumes as they appeared on the actors during the scenes in which they were worn.

A limited number of walk-in tickets will be available each day the exhibit is open.  Walk-in tickets must be purchased at the museum the day of the visit for the next available time slot.  Members of the The History Museum  or campus  members receive free admission to Dressing Downton.  During Dressing Downton, all tickets to The History Museum include admission to the Dressing Downton exhibit as well as to the other History Museum galleries and the Oliver Mansion (tours of the Oliver Mansion are limited and on a space-available basis).  CLICK HERE to purchase tickets or members can contact History Museum Membership Coordinator at (574) 235-9664, ext. 238 or jhenecke@historymuseumSB.org to reserve your tickets.
