Strengthening Communities through Healthy Lifestyles

Today, our communities, our states and the nation face a health epidemic that is having a critical financial and physical impact on the citizens of our country and our health care system at large. Through a speakers’ series, open to the public, Elkhart Rotary proposes to present nationally recognized authorities to address our wellness through the way we eat and exercise and the impact these choices have on our health and wellbeing. Plant-based dietary patterns have been associated with many health benefits, including increased longevity, sustained weight loss, reduced blood cholesterol, reductions in blood pressure and the prevention and reversal of chronic diseases. Awareness of what we eat and how we exercise have become topics of increasing importance and relevance for many of us. Elkhart Rotary represents a neutral, agenda free organization dedicated to building community awareness and understanding. With 165 active members, Elkhart Rotary is well represented by professionals, business owners, and non-profits, creating a diverse club with a broad base of inuence. The Club’s community impact can help bring attention and awareness to the Speakers Series programs by drawing from a wide audience.
