Fill your home with amazing one-of-a-kind works of art, or stock your pantry with tasty desserts and freshly baked breads and pastries at the Ooey Gooey Fundraiser and Service Auction, the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart’s largest annual fundraiser. The annual event’s auction offerings also include social opportunities as members host all manner of events such as murder mystery dinners or backyard cookouts. Open to the public with no admission charge, the auction will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the church, 1732 Garden St., Elkhart. Doors will open at 4 p.m. so that participants may shop the auction’s cash-and-carry tables, snapping up unique gifts and collectibles, and peruse the live auction offerings. The live auction with an expected 40 to 45 items will begin at 5 p.m. Raffle tickets will also be sold for a chance to win gift cards to local restaurants and retailers. A light dinner, a variety of beverages and dessert will be available for a modest suggested donation. The auction each year brings together UUFE’s members, friends and neighbors for an evening of fun and fellowship. The auction has been a fixture for most of UUFE’s 56 years. The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Elkhart was founded in 1961 as a liberal progressive faith community for the Elkhart County area, including southwest Michigan. UUFE draws its members from Elkhart, Goshen, Middlebury, Nappanee, Bristol, Mishawaka, Edwardsburg and South Bend. UUFE is affiliated with the national Unitarian Universalist Association.
