Open Book Festival is October 18 at main branch of St Joseph County Library

Reading is a form of magic. You have the opportunity to meet fascinating characters, experience different points of view and travel to any number of places. On October 18th, however, you will only need to travel as far as the Main Library to see how books, can set the stage for quite the celebration!

From 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. we will host our 13th annual Open Book Festival. The author of the first four Pete and Cat books, Eric Litwin, will be performing musical numbers, singing books and sharing stories. Mike Mullin will discuss his award winning Ashfall series geared towards older readers who enjoy suspenseful tales about survival in a post-apocalyptic world.

And with the wave of magic wand, there will also be opportunities to see famous storybook characters, or watch an actual magician present a number of illusions. The day will end on a musical note as a local ensemble lifts their voices in tribute to the power of words.

Visit us at Barnes & Noble on Friday October 17th for a sneak peak of Open Book and make a purchase to support SJCLP! Simply present one of our vouchers to your cashier and a percentage of the sale will support future programming. Can’t make it to the store, our vouchers can be used online only on October 17th. Spread the word to friends & family. Thanks for your support!
