WVPE Proud to present "Magic of Motown Music" October 3rd at The Lerner Theatre

Aug 20, 2014

On Friday, October 03, 2014, The Lerner will celebrate "Magic of Motown Music" featuring the Las Vegas touring act, The Temptations Revue, including Nate Evans and the Motown Rhythm Orchestra.  Their performance will include a tribute to Motown artists, Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin.

Nate Evans - As former lead singer of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame inductees, The Impressions, Evans was specially selected by original Temptations lead singers Eddie Kendrick, David Ruffin, and Dennis Edwards to join the group. Following the passing of these original members, Evans now leads the group with his soulful voice in this spectacular tribute performance.

"Magic of Motown Music" is much more than a tribute! This show is a musical extravaganza dedicated to the late Temptations; filled with songs from the library of one of the greatest Motown acts of all time.  Therefore, the moves and arrangements performed in this show are a replica of the original Temptations show.

This group assembled by Nate Evans... is comprised of Nate Evans, Joseph Cross, Ritchie Stanley, Reggie Reed and Curtis Taylor (songwriter and recipient of the 1999 R&B Satin Award), all backed by an 8 piece orchestra!

In addition, The Sounds of the Four Tops will appear as special guests.  The opening act will feature Performing Art students from Saint Joseph, Elkhart Central and Clay High Schools which will also benefit from the concert.  WVPE is a proud presenting partner.
